10ZiG – The Story Behind the Name

10ZiG Technology looked to one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of the 20th century when the company decided to change its name from BOSaNOVA in 2009.

When the thin client specialists were debating its new identity, they wanted to come up with an inspirational name that represented the high levels of performance that its thin client and zero client products provide.

Tenzing Norgay, or as he is better known, Sherpa Tenzing, is one of the most famous mountain climbers in history. He was one of the first two individuals known to have reached the summit of Mount Everest, which he accomplished with Sir Edmund Hillary on 29th May 1953.

This name stood out from a list of names provided by a corporate branding company, as well as holding a special interest for 10ZiG’s CEO, Martin Pladgeman, who is an avid reader of British History and that of the Commonwealth.

10ZiG not only champions being the first and being innovative, but it also defines the company as one that places much of its emphasis and importance on support, just as Tenzing Norgay supported Sir Edmund Hillary in his journey.

Andy Martin, Managing Director at 10ZiG Technology, said: “The Company was founded in 2003 and is based in Phoenix, Arizona. When we changed the name to 10ZiG after the great mountaineer Sherpa Tenzing, we were able to start thinking about linking our new products in order to give them relevance to the name.

“For instance, the series of zero clients launched in Las Vegas all had the prefix ‘8848’ – this refers to the height of Mount Everest in meters."

10ZiG Technology is committed to providing its customers the very best in support from start to finish; beginning with their initial proof of concept, through to the rollout of their production units and ultimately supporting of those units through their life cycle.

While some technology companies focus only on blazing a trail forward while leaving some of their customers behind, 10ZiG takes pride on making sure its customers are brought along the trek as technology progresses and while 10ZiG continues to push forward with award winning innovation.

About Altaro

Founded in 2009, our company has grown rapidly over the years and continues to do so with our flagship solution Altaro VM Backup, which is rapidly gaining traction as the natural choice for Hyper-V and VMware VM backups.

Altaro VM Backup was born out of a need which we faced ourselves in the early days of Altaro. Backing up and restoring VMs was a needlessly complicated process without the use of a 3rd party tool, while existing backup solutions were expensive, still complicated to configure and use and let us down in times of trouble.

We decided we could do better. Over 30,000 votes of confidence (and raving reviews) from customers confirms we were on to something.

We're proud of the fact that thousands of customers and Partners worldwide chose to rely on Altaro, being excited by our fresh take on backup software, by their experiences with our Support team and by the number of times our software already saved their behinds. Don't take our word for it - Check out our testimonials and see for yourself the genuine feedback we get on a daily basis.

deviceTRUST is the leader for dynamic context awareness within the End User Computing (EUC) market.

Today’s requirements to access business applications and desktops from any device, from any location, over any network connection at any time brings new challenges to IT security and compliance with it. With its patent pending technologies, deviceTRUST delivers more than 120 properties of the remote device and user into the virtual session (Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, VMWare Horizon View or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services). The dynamic context is always up-to-date during the entire session and can be easily consumed using the existing logon scripts or any UEM solution. Any change in the critical properties triggers a definable action. deviceTRUST supports internal and remote network access, integrates transparently with any existing remote access or VPN solution and requires no additional infrastructure making implementation easy. This enables a provisioning of a EUC environment that meets the current requirements of the flexible use and also meet the increased security and compliance requirements of the company.

About Infinio

At Infinio, we believe that it’s important to build our company as carefully as our product. We’ve consciously made the right investments to offer a valuable solution and great customer experience at an affordable price.

Infinio brings to market a fundamentally new architecture to solve the problem of data storage performance in virtualized environments. Our team is 100% focused on applying innovation to make life better for virtualization administrators and the users they support.

Based in Cambridge, Mass., the company enjoys strong financial backing from tier-one venture capitalists including Bessemer Venture Partners, Highland Capital Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Osage University Partners.

Our Story

Infinio began in 2011 when Columbia computer science professor Vishal Misra and his fellow researchers saw the potential for their work in content-based deduplication to solve real-world problems. Vishal enlisted experienced software industry entrepreneurs and top-notch engineers to take the vision forward.

Many of the exciting new technologies emerging in the data storage industry place a heavy burden on IT staffs, requiring them to rip and replace current systems with expensive new alternatives. Infinio has a different approach.

Infinio’s strategy is built on several key observations:

While flash is increasingly being used to offload IOPS, DRAM is an even faster medium

Virtual machines typically display very high levels of data redundancy, requesting the same content frequently across a cluster

There is a real opportunity for an affordable, non-disruptive solution

Infinio’s unique architecture offers the efficiency of a global, content-based system, the flexibility of a content-addressable system with perfect distribution, and fills a gap in the market for an operationally non-disruptive, software-only solution to storage performance problems.

IT needs security. protected-networks.com provides security. The software defines information technology and security in a different way. The focus of the company is not only security, but the acceptance by the user and therefore its efficiency. The idea of a user centric access rights management solution was born in the second half of 2007 and beginning of 2008 by analyzing customer needs. In the following year, we developed the first prototype, working closely with our customers. After founding  the company in January 2009 and being granted financing through our investors, protected-networks.com developed and presented the first finished solution in the third quarter of 2009.

Complete security

The company sees its strengths in the development of a homogenous and integrated solution, which combines several functionalities and changea the way in which access rights management is traditionally approached. Our solution is strongly orientated along best practice business processes and individual use cases. New ways of presenting information, reducing functions and information to the essential and a strong user orientation differentiate the solution against other players in the field.

Behind the scenes

The founding team has a wealth of experience in the areas of IT security, product realization and marketing. We also have an extensive background from a variety of of companies regarding access rights management. With a team of developers that has already proven its capabilities and expertise in various areas of the ICT segment, protected-networks.com covers all competencies that are needed for a scalable and performant solution in this area.

triCerat began operations in 1997. The company initially developed custom software tools for Citrix MetaFrame licensees. triCerat released Reflect™, its first packaged application in 1998. In 2001, triCerat introduced ScrewDrivers®, the world's first driverless printing solution for MetaFrame and Terminal Services. The ScrewDrivers product dramatically increased triCerat's growth and led many in the Terminal Server community to label triCerat as "the printing company."

Today, triCerat offers Simplify Suite® a package of integrated server management tools that boost the manageability, reliability, performance, and security of Microsoft Terminal Server, giving Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server licensees a proactive mechanism for ensuring quality of service - we call it Day Zero® Protection. Licensed by over 6,000 customers worldwide, triCerat's Simplify Suite creates significant ROI by reducing support and hardware costs, and increasing productivity.

triCerat is a Premier Citrix Alliance Partner and Certified Microsoft partner. The company has a software development partnership with Tim Mangan, founder of TMurgent Technologies and Ericom. In addition, triCerat has partnerships with over 350 value added resellers, consultants, and systems integrators that recommend, resell, and implement its products worldwide.
